Hoka OneOne Clifton 5 Review. Review. This past weekend I went to the running store to get fitted for some shoes since I've decided to do a half later this year. People at the store were great. They had me try a bunch of different shoes and use the treadmill. Settled on the Hokas.
My 1st hoka was Clifton6. I reached 1200km in that, doing 5k to 26k runs. The C6 has been retired and its successor is my Rincon3. Its like a light version of C6 , already 500km n still going strong 👌. /i have other road running shoes that overlaps as i like to run in diff shoes every outing (ie Rebel3, Nova1) 👌.
The 7's were supposedly really popular for plantar fascitis. They still have tons of cushioning, but they fit totally differently from the 7. The 7 was almost a "straight last". The 8 definitely isn't. It runs narrower and doesn't have nearly the volume inside as the 7.
Best. WhatEvery1sThinking • 2 yr. ago. Clifton 6 - 500km before using them as work shoes. Rincon 2 - 700km, however they probably died at around the 500km mark. My last~15 runs in them the shoes basically had turned into bricks and I was putting myself at risk of injury. So I'd say 500km for a pair of non-trail, non-racing Hoka's.
That said, the Clifton and Bondi seem to be the most common among nurses. The Bondi has way more cushion but is slighter heavier. The Clifton has slightly less cushion, but is lighter. Both are awesome and are honestly very similar! 2. Amnesia34. • 2 yr. ago. Bondi is the most cushioned, Clifton is one less cushion level. Hoka’s marketing pitch: The ultra-cushioned game-changer. Overview: The Hoka Clifton 9 is a great long run and recovery day shoe that is comfortable at slow and medium paces. The upper is very comfortable — lots of padding throughout without being too tight. The midsole is extremely soft and absorbs impacts well. The outsole is decently grippy.
