Well, damn. Accidentally pressed submit as I was modifying the title. Should be; "Far Cry 4 keeps replacing a backup of an older save with my current brand new no-progress save." Essentially; I played for a good 10+ hours before I decided to let my friend play when he was over at my house.

Thanks, but I know how to play the game and I'm not on extreme mode. Like I said, the issue isn't the lack of ammo or not being able to finish the mission. The issue is that I want to be able to abort and restart any mission at any time I feel like, just on principle. If I'm not going to be able to do that throughout the game, I don't want to
