Speed during regen: 60 to 70mph. RPM: kept around 2k RPM. Ended at 1513 miles. Avg MPG during Regen: 10.1. Burned 2.1 gallons diesel during Regen. Big difference is regens on the 2011 were lasting around 5 to 7 miles verses 23 miles on the 2015 . All of my regens on the 2015 are taking at least 20 highway miles.

If you drive the car at over 50mph for over 20 minutes it will start the regen. If you do just short journeys it could cause problems although the Mondeo does have a system which will force a regen but it's better to drive the car so it starts naturally. If the DPF clogs and fails it's expensive to replace so look after it.
I also wasn't quite sure what the amount of soot was in the DPF. How do I go about first checking what level the DPF soot is at and second force a regeneration on the car. Coolant temp is not an indicator either. Drive the car for about 10-15mins and then pull over but don't switch off. If your idle speed is higher than normal (circa 1Krpm) then the car is attempting to conduct the regen. Drive off again and stay driving for around 25mins. Pull over again and check the idle.
